Raymore has grown fast over the past decade, and there's a reason for that. It offers newer construction, a quieter pace, and easy access to the broader Kansas City south suburbs — all at a price point that still makes sense for families and first-time buyers.
We sell homes in Raymore regularly, and here's our honest take on what life looks like there.
Location and Access
Raymore sits along US-58, just east of Belton and a short drive from Harrisonville. I-49 is accessible in minutes, which opens up the full KC metro for commuters. Raymore is technically in Cass County, which means your real estate taxes and property costs reflect that — typically lower than comparable communities on the Kansas side or further north in the metro.

The Housing Market in Raymore
Raymore skews newer than Belton or Harrisonville. You'll find a lot of homes built in the 2000s through present, with active new construction still underway in several subdivisions. Floorplans tend to be open, lots are moderate to generous in size, and there's a strong variety of price points — from starter homes under $300K to larger builds pushing $500K and beyond.
If you're a seller trying to figure out what your Raymore home is worth in today's market, we covered that in detail in
our Cass County home valuation guide.
What the Community Feels Like
Raymore has a suburban, family-friendly energy. It's quieter and a little more spread out than Belton, with a strong sense of being a growing community rather than an established one. Neighbors tend to be young families and professionals who chose the area deliberately — for space, value, and quality of life.
Community events, parks, and newer amenities are well-developed, and the town has invested meaningfully in infrastructure to keep up with its growth.
What to Keep in Mind
Because so much of Raymore's housing stock is newer, you may find fewer of the mature trees, larger lots, and character-rich older homes that other parts of Cass County offer. If that's a priority for you, Belton or Harrisonville might be a better fit — we broke down those communities in our
Belton guide and
Harrisonville guide.
